Inspiring our next generation of
leaders to engage in civic life

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate is a hub of civic engagement and programming, centered around its physical exhibits and mock-Senate facility in Boston.
Launching an exciting new exhibit that honors Shirley Chisholm, The Institute developed an innovative idea: use the web to expand the physical exhibit beyond its original artists, empowering the community to contribute their own Art and their own stories.

SOLUTION | full design journey
Digital Mark understood that the Institute was looking to capture boldness in design and civil engagement in function. We needed something fresh, so simply repurposing design templates wouldn’t work.
Because of our focus on custom and orginal designs, the client benefited from a comprehensive design solution that included a Brand Story, User Research, Wireframes, interactive Mockups, and most importantly, true collaboration between our design team and the Institute stakeholders.

OUTCOME | DEVELOPMENT
We developed BringYourOwnChair.org to help showcase and grow the Institute’s A Seat at the Table exhibit. The site is supported by a backend workflow developed by Digital Mark that allows the exhibit to grow and avoids taxing the Institute’s team with manual tasks.
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute benefited from deep design and planning engagement, without having to hire multiple firms to get the website from idea to launch.
